Frequently Asked Questions

OnePlus Fullness Monitor

What are the benefits to compactor monitoring?

Monitoring allows for more efficient operations by providing real time compactor fullness visibility and capacity optimization, meaning operations run smoother and hauls are required less frequently, reducing costs significantly.

How does the monitoring system work?

The monitor measures the PSI for each compaction through the hydraulic line of the compactor.  When the set fullness PSI level has been reached, an email is sent to as many as four recipients to notify them it is time to collect the compactor.

Through the WasteForce platform this information can viewed.

How is the monitor installed?

The monitor is typically installed on a wall or other permanent structure near the compactor.  It will need to be connected to a standard 120vac. electrical source. The OnePlus transducer will be connected with a T-fitting into the extend hydraulic line. When this portion is complete, the installer will call an OnePlus Tech. and confirm the system operation.

What is the cost of the monitor?

Please contact OnePlus to discuss pricing and your operations requirements.

Is there additional cost for the software and/or installation?

If a monitor is purchased, there is an annual software fee and installation would be an additional charge.  If the monitor is part of a service agreement, software and installation are included in the fee.

Will the monitor work on my compactor and be able to notify my hauler?

The OnePlus monitoring system will work on almost any hydraulic compactor. The monitor is independent of any specific hauler; automatically notifying any hauler (via email).

What if I do not own the compactor or change haulers?

The OnePlus monitoring system is an independent entity so it does not matter if a hauler is changed or if a compactor is not owned.  If a hauler is changed, the hauler’s email addresses would simply need to be updated.

Do I need the software with Monitor?

Yes. OnePlus monitors are designed specifically to communicate only with OnePlus software.

Do I need a phone line?

Only if there is no cell signal at the compactor location.

Can I install the monitor outside?

Yes. OnePlus monitors are designed for both indoor and outdoor installations.

Can I install it myself or does OnePlus install?

If a customer has proper compactor hydraulic and electrical experience, they can install themselves. If not, OnePlus strongly recommends having a professional service provider install the monitor.  OnePlus can arrange for installation.

Metro Sensor

What does the Metro sensor do?

The Metro sensor monitors the fill-level, temperature, and geopositioning of waste and recycling containers. Using ultrasonic sensing technology and both cellular and  Internet of Things (IoT) network communications, the Metro enables haulers, cities and private companies to know the fill-level of their containers at all times, allowing them to collect on optimized routes.

Which container types does the Metro sensor monitor?

The Metro sensor is small and very versatile meaning it can monitor many waste and recycling container types including street bins, dumpsters and Front End Loader, glass banks, clothing donation bins, waste oil tanks, fresh oil tanks and many more.

Which materials or liquids does the Metro sensor monitor?

The Metro sensor can monitor many materials and liquids, including general waste, recyclables, textiles, bio mass, used cooking oil, waste oil, fresh oil, water and more. The Metro does not monitor flammable liquids.

How is the Metro sensor mounted to containers?

Installation of the Metro can take as little as one minute with as few as one bolt. Depending on the container type and the mounting position available, installation times may vary. OnePlus Support Technicians are available to support with client installations.

Does the Metro sensor require a wired power source?

No. The Metro is completely wireless and battery powered.

How long does the Metro battery last?

Due to the low power consumption required on IoT networks, the Metro can offer in excess of 10 years battery life OnePlus clients typically require one or two reports from the Metro each day, however more frequent reporting is available.

Is the Metro sensor's battery replaceable?

No. The Metro’s battery is not replaceable, however the metro offers up to 10+ years of monitoring.

How does the Metro communicate with the OnePlus platform?

The Metro communicates to the OnePlus platform via cellular and IoT networks such as Sigfox and LoRa. Where IoT networks are not available, the cellular version will be deployed.

Is a OnePlus API available for the Metro sensor?

Yes. The OnePlus REST API enables clients to pull sensor data from the OnePlus platform, directly to third party software for analysis, integration with fleet management systems and more.

Can the Metro sensor be configured to report at different times?

Yes. OnePlus clients determine the time of day and frequency of daily reports required from the Metro sensor. OnePlus Support Technicians are on hand 24/7 to assist clients with reporting configuration and account updates.

OnePlus WasteForce Platform

What data can be viewed in software?

All monitored compactors and containers can be viewed as a collection or individually. Clients enjoy a detailed view of fullness level, location, ID, last service date and much more.

Where can I view software?

For ease of use, the WasteForce platform is web-based and can be accessed from anywhere with internet connectivity.

Who can view the software?

OnePlus Clients determine which users are to receive access and the level of access required for each user.

Can I program my own call out settings?

For OnePlus compactor fullness monitors the answer is yes, but it is recommended that a OnePlus Service Technician with a full understanding of PSI parameters and effects makes these changes. For the OnePlus UBi and Metro waste container sensors, the client Account Manager must be notified to make configuration changes.

OnePlus Sentry

Is this a keyless entry product?

Yes. The OnePlus Sentry is a code access system.

Are there additional parts needed for installation?

No. Please note that OnePlus has solenoids and interlock switches .available for purchase.

Can I add my own custom pin number?

Yes. Custom access pins can be created by clients.

How is the monitor installed?

The monitor is typically installed on a wall or other permanent structure near the compactor. It will need to be connected to a standard 120vac electrical source. A set of wires will then be connected from the Solenoid, Interlock Switch, and start button.

Can I install it myself or does OnePlus install?

Yes. If a customer has proper compactor and electrical experience they can install themselves. If not, OnePlus strongly recommends having a professional service provider install the monitor. OnePlus can also arrange for installation.

All-In-One (Fullness, WasteForce and Sentry)

What is the difference in product/configurations?

Three main configurations:

1. All-In-One Monitor (Fullness, Usage and Sentry) – Measures the fullness of compactor, tracks who is using compactor and limits access. Requires software.

2. Off-Site Usage and Sentry – Measures who is using compactor and limits access. Requires software.

3. On-Site Usage and Sentry – Tracks who is using compactor and limits access. No software required.

What software is required? For the All-In-One.

Either OnePlus WasteForce software (Fullness) and WinEdge (Usage). For the Off-Site Usage and Sentry, WinEdge software is required.

What is the best application for this product? Varies.

Please contact OnePlus to discuss your application.

Can I view everything from my desk (off-site)?

Yes. With the proper configuration.

Can I view everything from one (1) website?

No. Fullness is viewed on a webpage and Usage is viewed from our downloaded software.

Are there additional parts needed for installation?

No. Solenoid and interlock switch are available for installation.

How is the monitor installed?

Installation methods depend on each configuration. Please contact OnePlus to discuss.

Can I install it myself or does OnePlus install?
